Star Wars Battlefront VR Mission Review

PlayStation VR launched in October to great critical success with a steady stream of VR releases through the release window. With many VR Experiences being indie developed, AAA developers such as Infinity Ward and Square Enix have been developing VR Experiences attached to their biggest releases of the year. Joining this exclusive AAA list are Dice/EA, developing an exclusive Rogue One mission for Star Wars Battlefront in VR.

The premise is simple, you are a rebel pilot on a patrol when you catch word of a distress signal you have to go help the ship reach safety through many explosions and of course a star destroyer.
Considering Battlefront is now two years past, the graphical fidelity has held up so well with the VR Mission being the epitome of this, arguably the best looking game on the platform, the free DLC uses the model scanning techniques to get every tiny detail on the in game models and flying past the humongous Star Destroyer is something to behold.

It's closest comparison would be the Call of Duty: Jackal Assault DLC, seeing as their both published by a AAA developer and both space shooters. Where the Jackal Assault was a short 5 minute experience that was less than visually stunning the Battlefront VR Mission clocks in at around 20 minutes long with optional objectives to add to repeatability. It's worth noting, as previously stated, the graphical consistency between the base game and the VR Mission is held in high regard as opposed to Jackal Assault that may have been developed by an external studio as it really isn't anything special.

Finally, Battlefront impresses against its similar VR experiences and its extremely fun to play and even re-play. It would be exciting to see if they incorporate some VR game mode for Star Wars Battlefront 2, or if they release an episodic VR series to fully take advantage of the PlayStation Platform (and future Xbox platform).

Final Fantasy 7 REMAKE - Ending Discussion

Final Fantasy 7 Remake (FF7R) is finally out and I’ve had my copy since 2 nd April because of the C-Virus and my goodness what a game. I managed to get the Platinum in about 91 hours and I still want to play more, it’s just an incredible masterpiece that needs to be talked about. We’re about to go deep into the Remake’s ending but I want to provide some context to the opinions I have before I put them out there; I am 25 years old and was brought up around Final Fantasy 7 Original (FF7), hell, I even learned how to read a high level because of FF7. I am a huge Final Fantasy fan, I have multiple collectors editions and I have materia tattooed on my arm. I love Final Fantasy 7. Needless to say, there’s going to be heavy spoilers regarding the original and the remake and we’re going to be talking about every aspect of the ending to the remake so, you’ve been warned. FF7R is a mostly faithful recreation of the original game until the ending chapter, so let’s deep dive into th...

Final Fantasy 7 REMAKE - Non-Spoiler Review

Final Fantasy 7 (FF7) is a masterpiece. What makes it a masterpiece? The combination of in-depth combat mechanics, a strong main scenario, great character development and an incredible soundtrack to boot. FF7 is the physical embodiment of when the stars align. Squaresoft had developed 6 mainline Final Fantasy (FF) games prior to 7, but this is the incredible culmination of everything they had learned from previous games as well as the fortuitous jump to 3D with the Sony Playstation. That was 1997, now we sit in 2020 with Final Fantasy 7 Remake (FF7R) finally being out. This review will remain spoiler free for the Remake but may contain spoilers for the original game so tread carefully if you wish to remain completely spoiler-free. FF7R opens with a gorgeous cinematic that establishes this game world of Midgar. FF7R is a multi-part series, positioned as a narrative epic by Square that wishes to transcend the original game by telling a story that goes beyond the scope of th...

Kingdom Hearts 3 - Review

Okay so, Kingdom Hearts is a big pond to jump into, so I want to lay some ground rules for this review first. I’m a huge Final Fantasy fan, having played every mainline entry in the series since Final Fantasy VII, I would like to consider myself a big Final Fantasy fan boy. I played Kingdom Hearts back in 2002 on my cousins’ PS2 and found it to be tremendously boring and I just didn’t understand anything going on... This will be addressed in the review so don’t go crazy yet. Close to the release of Kingdom Hearts 3 (KH3), at the time I was working in a game store and it’s always required that you keep up to date with the new releases so I needed to know something about this series going into the third instalment (well… it’s actually the 12 th or so game in the series but whatever). It should be noted, in preparation for the release of KH3 to the general adoring public, they released every single KH game in packages that tie into the story culminating epic that is KH3. King...
